Update: The Times We Live In – Covid and More
The world has changed drastically since I last offered my EFT International Mentoring Groups. My heart goes out to all of my fellow EFT Practitioners for the hardships you may be going through. We are all living through a very challenging time, in every corner of the globe. May your skill in the healing arts and the gift of EFT continue to support you and everyone you share it with as we deal with whatever arises in the coming months.
THE SUMMER MENTORING GROUP SESSIONS ARE FINISHED.
THE DESCRIPTIONS BELOW GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF HOW MY MENTORING WORKS.
Please email me if you would like to be notified for the next mentoring series – email@example.com
- Our 90 minute sessions are offered weekly for four weeks, plus one bonus session (after a week off). Instead of the usual evening meeting, we will try a daytime meeting. The day of the week is Wednesday. You can sign up for the entire series to complete mentoring requirements, or simply choose single sessions as a part of your annual mentoring.
- Our time may be daytime for the US — noon in my time zone, which is New York (Eastern) time. This time also works for the UK and Central Europe (5 or 6 pm). Or it may be evening US, 7 pm NY time, which works for Australia and New Zealand.
- These sessions will include acknowledgement of what is going on in our world. We will, of course, allow time for each participant to bring in their specific mentoring needs for their EFT practice. And with each session, I will present specific information and practice suggestions relevant to both the Covid challenge we all are living with — and the growing awareness of systemic racism in our world.
THE PANDEMIC: This on-going threat presents a level of stress and challenge to our nervous systems that needs our attention and care. We will talk about EFT for self-care during this time as well as how to assist clients. We will also discuss ways that tapping can help us maintain a healthy immune system.
RACIAL JUSTICE: In addition, as healing arts practitioners, we all have a responsibility to understand social and racial justice issues. Here in the US, it is a critical question at this time and one that is relevant around the world as well.
I have been deeply humbled to realize how much I did not know and did not understand about systemic racism. As a white person, I have had the luxury of not having to think about race. But recent events have brought an awakening and a strong commitment to becoming educated and opening myself to truly listening and understanding, which has changed me.
I now believe that, to be trauma-informed EFT practitioners, we need to understand much more about ancestral and racial trauma and how it affects the nervous systems of all of us, no matter which racial group we are identified with. Trauma therapist Resmaa Menakem is a pioneer in this field and will be one of our resources. In these mentoring sessions, I will share what I have been learning about the vital necessity of somatic, body-centered approaches to bring healing to these deep-seated racialized traumas encoded in all of us.
